High As A Kite Again
It’s happened again. I don’t know why. I have weeks when I feel ok but not exactly fab. It’s not depression, more of a mood swing. I woke up today feeling on top of the world. This has happened a lot in the months since my diagnosis, so it may be a blood sugar thing. The downside of this is that I should be keeping my blood sugar as constant as possible. Oh well.
It may be something to do with my medication and even something to do with the fact that I started taking multivitamins about 6 months ago and Omega 3 capsules (have to - I hate oily fish).
Anyhoo, I have buzz about me now not usually experienced unless I have just successfully fought off a migraine with my lovely pink pills.
Of course it could also be because of the following..
A Weekend Away
I just spent a lovely weekend at Jane’s house (Jane is my late dad’s wife). I took my niece Sophie with me and we had a great time. She is 10 and grows about 4 inches every time I see her. She is almost as tall as me already which is something I had to learn to live with a long time ago. It was a great 2 and half hour drive full of very loud singing along to crammed Ipod. It was quite cool that her musical tastes have expanded beyond Robbie Williams and Britney and now include Green Day. I discovered much new music from her Ipod - Sugababes in particular (downloading it all now). I definately have a soft spot for groups that constantly sample or cover my favourite 80s songs. Good marketing angle guys.
Anyway. Lots of loud singing with Uncle Neil.
It was Sophie’s first trip to Bromham since Dad died and we had a little chat about it on the way. She is quite grown up about such things but they were very close but she waited until the trip back to tell me that it was sad and not the same with him not being there.
On Saturday we spent the day in Bath and went on an open top tour bus. In typical fashion, I had forgotten my camera and had to rely on my trusty Siemens mobile phone. I was quite pleased with how the shots came out. The secret is definately to get lots of light in the shot.
a) I got sunburnt and b) Started to sneeze like you wouldn’t believe.
Bath. Winners of “Britain in Bloom” year after year. Pollen hell.
I uploaded all the weekend photos to my Flickr account anyway if you wanna look.
After Bath we stopped at Longleat and had a very british picnic - muddy, wet, quick but a lot of fun. Jane brought along Thomas, her grandson. Seven years old and like every other seven year old, unable to move at less than 70mph even when sitting on a bus.
