Thoughts For A Sunday
Things done this week:
I finally put all the photos taken at work back up on my Flickr account. They appear down the left hand side of this as I post them. The fuss that caused me to take them down in the first place seems to have died down. I censored the only one that may have caused problems (the one that showed some of our software). Taking one every day is not easy but with two exceptions, I have managed it so far. Most people don’t mind and are quite curious at the idea. I guess that having a photo online is still quite a novelty to some. I really like the blurry effect given by a camera phone too, which is why I haven’t retouched any of them. I always take the first attempt too.

Work proceeds apace on the DYRMS Archive. I have nailed down the design and am slowly adding all the articles from the old web site. I used the same software as this blog because it is fairly well suited to the task. Hopefully it looks different enough though. The one problem is (and this always happens) I start reading all the stuff over again as I write it and hence it takes even longer. One thing I am extremely surprised at is how quickly posts on Wordpress Blogs (the software used for this blog and the soon-to-be-released archive) are indexed by Google. It appears to take about 5 minutes for every damn word to be indexed and searchable. Regular readers will appreciate the lengths to which I went to even get page titles to index properly in the past.
To put this theory to the test, it is now 4.28pm on 18th February 2007 and I will now type a word that I know I have never used before - quantoyrags. Also, I will use the names of two people at work. Rob Dyson, Tiger Young. Now lets see how long that takes to be indexed.
Also, thanks for those who are nice enough to comment on my photos.
..and with reference to the above. Yes Stan. It is isn’t it?
