Man Do I Hate Shopping…

New Pants

Unless it is from the comfort of my PC chair.

Just been to Matalan to get some clothes. Why, oh why, oh why to people who work in shops not give a shit? Granted it is Sunday and nobody wants to work on a Sunday, but is “Hello” and “Thank You” really too much to expect? The young lady in question barely looked at me, preferring to yak to her mate at the next till about “last night”. Not a supervisor in sight, only a queue of desperate looking people staring in wonder at the 12 empty tills and 3 occupied ones. I can’t believe the shop gets any busier and yet there we queued - bored but not brave enough to put down our baskets and walk out.

£58 and not even a thank you. Good value if nothing else. Why do we put up with it?

Am I the only one that thinks people under the age of 21 either hate me or don’t give a shit about me?

Ms Nicole Smith

So she died and they still don’t know why. Memorable for many things. You know you are getting old when people more or less the same age as you start to die and nobody seems surprised.

The Other Class of 86

Inspired by the media storm surrounding the above event, I did a bit of web research.

Famous people the same age as me (and some of you). Class of 86 and born in The Year Of The Monkey. This is incidentally why The Gorillaz are so named. Mr Albarn was born in 1968 you see.

Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Celine Dion, Patricia Arquette, Ashley Judd, Gillian Anderson, Debra Messing, Guy Ritchie, Will Smith, Owen Wilson, Lucy Lui, Brendan Fraser, Jeri Ryan, Lisa Marie Presley, Yasmin Bleeth, Gary Coleman, Jason Donovan, Luke Goss, David Hewlett, Rhys Ifans, Patsy Kensit, Ron Livingston, Traci Lords, Kylie, Julia Sawalha, Daniel Craig…

x for no-one in particular.
