Blog Version 3 (continued)…
So, as far as I can tell….
This looks fine on Internet Explorer 7 (although it loads quite slowly) and Firefox 2.0.
This looks terrible on Internet Explorer 6 and Opera 9.
I don’t know how it looks on a Mac.
This is…
a) Very annoying.
b) Not my fault.
c) Due to reasons I am totally unable to solve at this point.
Possible solutions…
a) Everybody get Firefox 2.0 or Internet Explorer 7. I know this not possible at work (I myself am stuck with IE6 and Windows NT at work). I know this may sound pompous and overbearing of me but I am so pissed off with Microsoft right now and I just want you to see my blog. Installing either of the above will take about 10 minutes and thats it. I seriously would not suggest it if I thought any of you would have any trouble with it. Trust me, the Internet works just as well (sometimes better) with Firefox.
Other misc observations…
a) The little green bullet points look fine in Firefox.
b) The little green bullet points look stupid in Internet Explorer.
This is very silly. Web design standards are supposed to be standards. The Firefox people say they do it right and Microsoft say that everyone should stick to their standard. Arghhh………..
c) Some of my sidebar code is crashing some people’s Internet Explorer 6. How is that possible? I even downloaded a stand-alone version of IE6 so that I could try it out for myself. Yes. It crashed on mine too. Arghhhhhh….
Please post on the forum guys and let me know what works and what doesn’t. Browser type and version is all I really need to know. Please take the time to tell me, especially if it all works fine. I really need to know that at the moment. Just one of you…pleeeeeeeeeeeze.
Incidentally, where’s Stan? He has been strangely quiet throughout this whole affair.
Migraine. Damn.
