I have been off work since Monday night. For the second time this year, the lower back hurts like hell. Well at least it did, its not too bad now. Sitting very still for a bit and then walking about for a bit and then sitting still for a bit seems to work, as does Ibuprofen in moderation. It looks like I will have to surrender to the ravages and inconveniences of old age - at least the bits that involve a) lifting things into the attic or b) lifting things in the shed.

I hate being off work. I spend most of my time criticising those I work with for skiving and am drenched with guilt even when in pain. The last time I genuinely skived was to avoid one of Jack Clarke’s History tests in my 3rd form.
