Sunday Bloody Sunday
Another pleasant valley Sunday.
Up at 11am, Lunch at my Aunty’s house and then back home to check the EMail. Ooh look, an Email which tells me that MTM has left a note on my Guestbook to say how much he enjoyed the long-neglected “A Dukie’s Tale”. Spurred on by this unexpected praise, I wallow in my website for the first time since I uploaded all the Old Boys photos last November.
I wish I had left well alone. The photos on the Diary page are not displaying. After a few more clicks around the site I realised that it was widespread. Oh dear. Links not going anywhere, pictures missing and several articles missing altogether.
Time for a clear up and repair job.
It’s now 9.49pm and I have been at it far too long. Headache.
Still, I did laugh a lot and as usual got sidetracked by old photos.
So what did I achieve in 6 or so hours? Quite a bit. A new sig graphic for the forum and I reduced the website size from 135mb to 110mb just by deleting photos not used.
What did surprise me is that despite having Broadband, 10 times faster than dial-up, uploading or deleting files from the site is not all that quick. Dreamweaver still takes about 2 seconds to process each file even though it takes less than 1 second to transmit it. I read somewhere that the FTP client in Dreamweaver is a dog so maybe I’ll look for another one.
Time for some more pills.
Two days of blogdom already. Wow.
